The Coastal Express ran on the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad from Eugene to Coos Bay on July 23, 2005. Here are some pictures taken as the train was leaving Eugene.
As many of you already know, I have started a new position with the University of Oregon and have moved to the Eugene, Oregon area.
Along the way I stopped to take some pictures of the Echo Canyon area near Echo, Utah and also the Golden Spike National Historic Site in Promentary, Utah.
I then traveled along the Columbia River Gorge and on the weekend of June 4 drove through the Three Sisters area.
On October 10, 2004 I was on the Capitol Limited traveling from Elkhart Indiana to Washington D.C. With no express cars on this train I was able to take pictures from the window of the door of the last car. Along the way, we were delayed for almost 4 hours in Connellsville PA because of a freight train derailment. CSX finally routed us through the freight yard there to get us around the wreckage. Here are some pictures from the trip, starting with the freight yard in Connellsville.
My son Peter and I attended the annual Railfan Weekend/Labor Day Weekend at the Illinois Railray Museum on September 4, 2004. Here are the pictures from our trip, including pictures of Frisco #1630.
The Little River Railroad has their 0-4-0T running again in White Pigeon, MI. Here are some photos.
The latest addition to the website is a sales boot from the Lima Locomotive Works published in 1946. This book is from the collection of Tim Bainter.
The lastest addition to the site are some pictures from a visit to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson. All photos by Tim Boshart.
The latest album in the Railroad Pictures area is on the Wellsboro Junction in Indiana where CSX and GTW meet.
On May 31, 2004 the Illinois Railway Museum brought out it's Nebraska Zepher.
We visited the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago on May 22. I now have pictures of the railroad exibit in the Railroad Pictures area along with pictures of the model railroad in the Model Railroad section.
