On September 22, 2007 a group of us worked on part of the older section of track. We leveled, balasted and checked the gauge on the track from the first crossing of the creek up to the water tower. Here are some pictures from that day .

On September 1-2, 2007 we had what should be the last major work weekend on the Meadows and Lake Kathleen. We remove and replaced the first curve on the railroad. Here are some pictures from that weekend.

Yesterday I got a CD in the mail from Tim Bainter with quite a few pictures. First the bad news, the Old Wakarusa Railroad is no more. The rails have all been torn up and the train has been moved. On June 2, 2007 we had another work day on the Meadows & Lake Kathleen railroad where we laid another 120 feet of track. Only about 450 more feet of track to lay before the main part of the railroad is finished. Here are some pictures .

On May 5, 2007 we had another work day on the Meadows and Lake Kathleen Railroad. This time we were doing maintenance work on the existing track. We started by extending the retaining wall at the end of the big trestle and then leveled track and spread ballast on other stretches of track. As a special treat we brought out the ballast car for the first time and used it to spread the ballast on part of the track. Here are some pictures .

On April 28 & 29, 2007 we had another wook weekend at the Meadows & Lake Kathleen Railroad. We finished the track in the yard and passenger loading area and extended the track out to the house. Here are some pictures from that weekend.

On March 10, 2007 we had another work day at the Meadows & Lake Kathleen where we unloaded some more rail and also laid some more track. Here are some pictures.

On October 28, 2006 we had another work party at the Meadows and Lake Kathleen railroad. We completed laying track on Blackberry Hill and now have only another 900 feet left to before the golden spike is driven.

I finally found some time to add various pictures to the website that have been sitting in my inbox for some time. First up are some pictures taken by Jim Boshart of the Big Boy steam engine in Cheyenne, WY in July 2005.
